Hemorrhoid Remedies that Provide Relief
People, who suffer from the painful occurrence of hemorrhoids, need fast relief that provides them with a pain-free lifestyle. The following hemorrhoid remedies, can be easily used, and will provide sufferers with relief from mild pain, inflammation, swelling, and flare-ups.
One of the best ways to provide relief is to thoroughly, clean the area around the hemorrhoid. Do not use dry toilet paper to do this, but rather, use a moist wipe, which is soothing, and non-harmful, such as, witch hazel wipes, or other over-the-counter wipes, that include a numbing agent. Do not purchase wipes that contain perfume or alcohol, as these may cause further irritation.
Other hemorrhoid remedies which may help reduce pain and swelling include, placing a small ice pack against the affected area for a few minutes. Also, be sure to place a cushion on any chair that you are sitting on; this will relieve pain, and help reduce swelling.
Topical creams, and suppositories are also an excellent way to treat hemorrhoids. Choose over-the-counter creams with hydrocortisone. This ingredient acts as a local anesthetic to temporarily soothe the area. Always, carefully read, and follow the instructions on the packet however, as use of some creams and suppositories for more than one week, can cause the skin to atrophy.
Bathing in warm water, and using a sitz bath, are two excellent hemorrhoid remedies that can soothe painful, areas that are difficult to reach. Finally, be sure to take advantage of oral medications, to ease the pain, such as acetaminophen, aspirin, ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin or Tylenol.
